U5 - U8 Academy
The Chantilly Soccer Club’s (CSC) Academy is a specialized
set of programs geared towards U5 - U8 boys/girls that want to advance their skills and have a strong passion to play soccer. The Academy
provides recreational players with interest in playing on a travel team once
they reach the U9 level, an opportunity to train with top coaches/trainers and
other players of similar capabilities and to eventually play at a higher level.
Players will focus on developing a strong technical base which includes ball mastery, 1st touch, passing, shooting, creativity and fun. U8 players will participate in crossover play as well as cross club friendlies and train twice weekly to supplement the regular recreational format of play. U7 players will engage in club play and training one day per week. Both groups receive professional training.
Our Micro-Academy is tailored to U5 & U6 players wanting a quality development environment where they have fun while developing the fundamental skills needed to enjoy and progress with the game.
The CSC Philosophy
For us, at this age, the game is not about wins and losses,
and we look for families that are not singularly focused on that objective. The
emphasis, now, needs to be on the players developing their enjoyment of the
game and technical ability.
Although our objective is to develop "soccer
excellence" and help the players find their own paths to developing the
skills necessary to compete at the highest level, we also find reward in
helping them develop important life skills – integrity, respect,
responsibility, teamwork, and commitment.
Each player enters the Academy with different experiences
and strengths, and it is our training responsibility to help them refine those
strong skills and focus attention on developing their emerging areas. We focus
on three primary areas of age appropriate development:
- Techniques:
Foot skills, ball control, passing, tackling, shooting, etc.
- Tactics:
Movement, spacing, field awareness, attacking, defending, etc.
- Physical:
With their fast-growing bodies there is an emphasis on coordination,
flexibility, agility, and balance. We also start talking about proper nutrition
and hydration.
Why CSC?
We encourage you to make an informed decision
about where your child will play soccer as they prepare for travel play. It
will be an important part of their life and will affect how they develop and
learn to enjoy the game.
Important factors to consider when selecting a club: - Trainer/coach disposition and experience with
age group;
- Trainer/coach certification;
- Development philosophy;
- Size of club and attention to your child’s
needs;
- Location of fields and trainer/coach/player
ratio;
- Competitiveness at your child’s development
level;
- Reputation of training/coaching;
- Cost (initial and recurring).
