Veteran Northern Virginia coach Mike
Jorden is bringing his expertise to the Chantilly Soccer Club as the
club's new Technical Director.
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with Chantilly
Soccer Club with its player development and shaping the club for the
future," says Jorden, who has coached two Region I Champions, two Region
I finalists, ten State Cup Champions and multiple Division 1 WAGS
League Champions in his 19 years with area youth teams.
Now, he'll provide guidance for the entire Chantilly Soccer Club boys and girls travel and development programs.
A USSF nationally licensed coach, Jorden implements a fundamentally
sound youth soccer regimen focusing on developing teams and players
technically and tactically, and building character and positive,
mentally strong athletes.
"It's going to be a process and must start at the grassroots
level," Jorden says. "The club has had great history over the years. I'm
looking forward to putting unique training opportunities in place to
help the young players in the club."
Jorden's 2009 Chantilly Burn U15 girls team advanced to the U.S.
Youth National Championships, where the side went undefeated in three
draws, taking third place overall.
That Burn team and Jorden's 2003 Sterling Elite U13 girls won
Region I titles. He also has coached with Herndon, Reston, Loudoun,
Southwestern and McLean youth clubs and, most recently, FC Virginia, an
ECNL club in Fairfax.
In 2008, Jorden coached two girls teams at the U.S. Youth
Soccer Region I tournament in Maine, with both teams - the U18 McLean
Freedom and the U14 Chantilly Burn - taking second place.
He is a 10-year VYSA-North District ODP staff coach and former
DC United and Washington Freedom staff coach. Earlier this year, Jorden
was named head coach of the newly formed DC United Women’s W-League
Team.
His teams have graduated numerous players into Division I college programs.
